The pictures below link to portfolios of
several of my guitars. Please check back often as I include new
portfolios and update pictures.
This is a Model S14 with Malaysian blackwood back and sides and an Italian spruce
soundboard. This guitar has a nuanced yet powerful sound with lots of dynamic range for a small bodied guitar.
It is appointed with camphor burl wood, flamed maple binding and a classic multiline purfling scheme.
This is a Model S16C with curly Sapele back
and sides, matching Sapele laminated neck and an Italian spruce soundboard.
Special features include a compound cutaway and soundport. This guitar is
loud with great dynamic range, separation and headroom. It works equally
well for fingerpicking and flatpicking. It is appointed with myrtle burl
wood and mother of pearl accents. The bloodwood binding and black purfling
lines add richness to the color palette.
This is a Model S15 with Mahogany back and sides and an Engelmann
soundboard. This guitar has a nice warm sweet sound that responds
well to a light fingerpicking style. It is appointed with dark
English walnut and black Mother of Pearl for a nice contrast to the
almost white soundboard and medium mahogany
tones.
This is a Model S15 with East Indian rosewood back and sides and a
Sitka spruce soundboard. This guitar has a rich resonant sound
with strong harmonics and sustain. It is a great fingerpicking
guitar, but has enough dynamic headroom for moderate strumming. It
is appointed with beautiful birdseye maple burl wood and abalone.
The flamed maple binding adds a nice contrast to the rich rosewood
tones.
This is a Model S16C with Madagascar back and sides and an
Engelmann soundboard. This is a cutaway version of the versatile
S16 model. It has a rich, yet mellow tone owing to the combination
of rosewood and Engelmann. It is very responsive with great sustain
and responds best to a lighter touch. Subtle contrasts are what
this guitar is about with Cocobolo appointments throughout,
including the fret markers.
This is a Model S16 with East Indian rosewood back and sides and a
Sitka “bearclaw” soundboard. This guitar is powerful
and resonant while possessing a somewhat warmer quality than is
typical for Sitka. This guitar will satisfy fingerpickers and
flatpickers alike. The beautiful “bearclaw” soundboard
is nicely framed with ebony binding and the Amboyna burl wood adds
a touch of class.
