I’ve recently updated my website to reflect changes in my offerings. The “Americana” and “Performer” Series guitars are no longer called out separately.

All of the features comprising the “Performer” Series are available as options on all of my guitars with the exception of the externally adjustable neck set. I’m no longer offering this option, but I’m still offering an adjustable neck with internal adjustment.

I still highly encourage the use of local woods in the construction of my guitars. There are many high quality woods available including Adirondack spruce, black walnut, maple and butternut for necks. Any of my models can incorporate these environmentally friendly woods.

I am now offering a shallow cut Florentine cutaway as well as my standard Venetian cutaway. The price for both of these options is now $500.

Finally, I am now providing all of my guitars with Ameritage “Silver Series” cases equipped with an Oasis Plus Case Humidifier. The “Silver Series” has the exact same construction as the “Gold Series”, but excludes the build-in humidifier and hygrometer. I feel digital hygrometers can be misleading and I personally like the function of the Oasis Plus Humidifier much better than the built-in humidifier. I also like the color scheme of the “Silver Series” much better, dark gray and black.

Well, once again it’s been too long since my last post. Had a great time at the Montreal Guitar Show last month. While I was there I participated in the Cherry Seven Project. This project was initiated by Marc Saumier, whereby several builders were asked to build guitars using local woods supplied by Marc. It was an honor to participate and Marc supplied some fine woods, including some amazing red spruce soundboards. Here is some press on the project and some youtube videos demonstrating the guitars. My guitar is featured in the second video.

I was pleased and honored to have the opportunity to share my knowledge of guitar building with Sherburne-Earliville High School students this past Friday. I wish to thank all the students and teachers that attended and the teachers that invited me to speak. I really enjoyed doing the talk and I hope those in attendance found it enjoyable as well.

UPDATE: This talk has been moved to April 9th at 9:30 AM.

On April 1st I will be giving a talk about guitar building to a group of Sherburne-Earlville High School students. The group will be composed of students from physics, math, music theory and technology classes. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to share my passion for building guitars. The talk will be broad in nature with something for everyone. Topics will include general construction, material selection, fret placement, considerations and effects of stiffness and mass, and tonal analysis (Chladni patterns and impulse testing). Should be fun!
