I will be photo documenting a guitar build and answering questions on the Acoustic Guitar Forum. Check it out!

Price Increase
When necessary, it has always been my policy to increase my prices at the beginning of the new year. It has also been my policy to announce price increases several months in advance to give those considering purchasing an RS Muth guitar an opportunity to place an order prior to the price increase. Having failed to do that I am now announcing that my prices will be increasing as of March 1, 2012. The standard base price on a traditional guitar will be $4700 and the base price on an Ascent guitar will be $5000. All orders accompanied by a deposit prior to March 1 will be honored at the current prices.
Catheral Music Closes
I am sad to announce that one of my dealers, Klem Mazuro, has decided to retire. Thus the doors at Cathedral Music are now closed for good. It was a pleasure working with Klem and Cathedral Music had special significance for me since it was located in Troy, NY, the town of my Alma mater, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Klem and his wonderful shop will be greatly missed.

Woodstock Show
Just got back from Woodstock and had a wonderful time. It is always good to see old friends and to meet new ones. I was very busy at the show and my latest example of the Ascent Series guitar received a lot of attention. Paul Asbell did a great job playing and demonstrating my guitars and chose to use one for his fingerstyle blues workshop. My hats off to Baker Rorick for putting on this show and all the hard work he does. Next year!

Woodstock Invitational
Frantically getting ready for the Woodstock Invitational guitar show. I plan to bring three guitars to the show.
One will be a Model S15 Ascent Series Venetian cutaway with Honduran back and sides and a Lutz spruce top appointed with burl wood purfling.
The second is a traditional S15 with East Indian rosewood and a Sitka spruce top appointed with fine multiline purfling.
The third is a traditional S14 with Ziricote back and sides and redwood top appointed with black mother of pearl and cocobolo.
Hopefully pictures of these guitars will be posted when they are completed!

Acoustic Guitar Interview Published!
Great News! My interview with Acoustic Guitar magazine has just been published. It can be read online or at a news stand nearest you. I need to point out that there is an error in the article that needs to be clarified. The following statement is not accurate:
“Like most flattop guitars, the top is excited mostly by torque rather than downward force, like the tops of Gypsy-jazz or archtop guitars.”
In fact, the opposite it true. There is no torque on a guitar with this bridge/tailpiece system as is also the case with any tailpiece guitar. There is however about ten pounds of static downward force in contrast to the original stress free bridge, which has none.

Acoustic Guitar Magazine Interview
Recently I was interviewed for an article in Acoustic Guitar Magazine. The interview will be published in the upcoming September issue. Look for it! I haven’t seen the final draft or the photos that will be used, so I’m anxious to see it myself.
Interesting fact – The writer who interviewed me was Jason Borisoff, son of Dave Borisoff, the founder and owner of Hipshot guitar products. It was a great interview and Jason is an accomplished player.
ASIA Symposium
Just got back from the ASIA (Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans) symposium in East Stroudsburg, PA. I had a great time reconnecting with old friends and making new friends. I also enjoyed some informative presentations ranging from guitar photography to international trade agreements.
I got a chance to visit the Martin factory to see how guitars are mass produced in an industrial setting. Martin makes 95,000 guitars a year in Nazareth and Mexico. Very interesting.
Finally I got to meet and hang out with the famous Ned Steinberger who created the concept behind the bridge I use for my Ascent Series guitars. Ned was kind enough to include my work in his keynote speech and to display one of my Ascent guitars at the exhibition.
All in all, a great week.

Website Update
I just added a new page to the website titled, “Sightings”. On this page I capture postings of photos, videos and articles pertaining to RS Muth Guitars. Check it out! Right now there are several postings related to the Montreal Guitar Show and the Cherry Seven Project, as well as links to some Youtube clips featuring my daughter, Haley.
I also added a couple of testimonials from satisfied customers on the “Acclaim” page.

Woodstock Show
Had a great time and a very successful show in Woodstock this past weekend. It was great to see old friends and to make new ones.
Kudos to Baker Rorick for another great show.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by my table. These shows are exhausting and exhilarating at the same time. Remember, don’t be shy about asking me any questions that you might have.
Thanks!
